VANTRUNK – Shallow Channel Corrugated Steel Framework

Technical Specifications

  • Steel with a minimum yield strength of 280 N/mm².

  • Beams are assumed to be simply supported.

  • Load and deflection are calculated using a safety factor of 1.6 and a permissible stress of 175 N/mm².

  • Results are based on pre-galvanized steel; hot-dip galvanizing will reduce stresses from the heat treatment and lower the tabulated load values by approximately 18%.

  • Beam loads are calculated in accordance with BS5950, measured from column face to effective length.

  • Tables show:

    1. Maximum safe working load

    2. Load producing a deflection of 1/200

    3. Load producing a deflection of 1/360
      – The choice of deflection criteria is at the discretion of the installation designer.

  • Applies equally to both point loads and uniformly distributed loads (UDL).
