Ex-proof

What is Ex-Proof?

The term Ex-Proof is derived from the combination of the words Explosion and Proof. In Turkish, it means flameproof or explosion-proof.

Where Are Ex-Proof Products Used?

  • Refineries producing petroleum and related products

  • Gas and crude oil pumping facilities

  • Chemical plants

  • Pharmaceutical factories

  • Battery rooms

  • All facilities where solvents are used

  • Ships transporting petroleum and similar products

  • Food factories

  • Flour and sugar plants

  • Natural gas boiler rooms

  • Fertilizer manufacturing and chemical production centers

  • Paint production plants

  • Coal mines and mining sites

  • Storage areas for paint raw materials

  • LPG filling and discharging facilities

  • Flammable and explosive material production sites

  • Cement manufacturing plants

In such working environments, leaked gases can mix with the atmosphere and create an explosive environment. Electrical devices used in these areas may generate static heating and arcs during operation, which can endanger the area and lead to explosions that put human safety at risk.

Therefore, materials used in hazardous facilities must be manufactured to Ex standards, ensuring they are designed in a way that prevents ignition and explosion. These requirements are clearly defined in safety regulations, and products must be licensed and certified accordingly.
